Abstract

|
Global and domestic health crises and pandemic brought on by infectious diseases such as coronavirus (COVID-19) are expected to increase in the future. As the national platform to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the people from public health threats due to infectious diseases at home and abroad, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and prevention (KCDC) Emergency Operations Center (EOC) operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Its core functions include early detection and rapid response to public health emergencies, as well as information sharing and real-time communication with relevant agencies. This report is meaningful in that it introduce the functions and roles of the KCDC EOC to various health officials.
